Sooooo...... Someone shares a news article. Someone else makes a comment about how they didn't get past the first line because the writer used "too" instead of "to". Someone else comments that the commenter used "1st" and not "first". I go to make a comment about the first commenter using "bc" instead of "because". But FB said there was an error posting it. I refresh the thread and the original comment was gone. If you're going to be hypercritical about things you need to be prepared for others criticizing you. Sheesh

While taking the dog out for a "walk" I was looking up at the stars and saw a small point of light that was moving. After a brief moment it vanished. Now I'm not sure if I saw a meteorite/space debris burning up in our atmosphere, a UFO turning on it's cloaking device, or a jet turning off its headlights. Either way I'm still on the planet and wasn't probed. As far as I remember.

Stuffed I am. Had a nice night with Lisa at Jim and Gretchen's house for Christmas. There was food, fun and games for all. This years theme was Redneck Christmas. I might be able to provide photo evidence later. Great seeing everyone again and we look forward to next Christmas. Now to rest up and head to my mom's tomorrow for more food.

I had a nice day today with Lisa at my mom and my sis's. As custom we ate too much food and have leftovers. So while on my Tennessee trip this past weekend I get some Chinese food and check the fortune cookie. Fortune is "You will be awarded some great honor." I said to myself that I was going to buy some lottery tickets with the numbers on the fortune. That was around 7:30 on Saturday night. On my way back home Sunday I finally remember to get tickets in Tennessee. One ticket was a Cash 3 with the numbers 276 Any Order for the next drawing. That was for Evening Oct 30. Today I check the numbers. That drawing ended up being 010. Nope, not a winner. No chicken dinner. Curious for some reason, I checked to see if 276 was a winner at any time. CASH 3, 10/29/2016, Evening, 762, Lucky Sum 15, Payout $70,329.00 That drawing was at about 6:30pm. Soooooo...... About an hour before I got the fortune cookie there was a drawing of those same numbers. I missed winning a few bucks by about 25 hours. LOL Maybe one of the other tickets will win. Maybe.

I learned something new today. While watching a video on Linux Shell scripting the narrator (foreign accent) was reading #! /bin/sh He read it as The Hash Sign, Shriek, Followed By The Bin Sh Path I had never heard of Shriek before and had to replay it to make sure I was hearing it correctly. Sure enough it's a term for !. From Wikipedia: Slang and other names for the exclamation mark In the printing world, the exclamation mark can be called a screamer, a gasper, a slammer, or a startler. In hacker culture, the exclamation mark is called "bang", "shriek", or, in the British slang known as Commonwealth Hackish, "pling". For example, the password communicated in the spoken phrase "Your password is em-nought-pee-aitch-pling-en-three" is m0ph!n3. Makes sense and it's easier to say than EXCLAMATION POINT. So I go to get a haircut today and find out that the barbershop is closed as they went on vacation. Sooooo, I go to Walmart and see if they have any decent shirts for job interviews. Yup, they have lots of different shirts if you wear a size SMALL or 2XL. But I did find one XL that was decent. Now I just have to wait for Wednesday to roll around for that interview.

Visited temp agency and filled out some paperwork with them. Passed by potential job and wondered why there's a guard tower in one corner of the property. *fingers crossed though* Nice lunch with Lisa Ladyquilter Smit. Broke out the string trimmer, edger, mower and pole saw. Cut down a small Maple that was dying and cut the old Red Tip stumps to ground level. Got all the lawn work done except the backyard. That still needs to be cut. Ran out of energy by then.

Just saw a different flavor of Pringles. Pecan Pie.
I just did an online job "assessment" type test and I wonder how old the person who designed it was. Besides using Java and not being able to use Chrome or Edge browsers and having to use Firefox it had terms that I haven't heard of in ages. Rheostat = reminds me of vacuum tubes Germanium transistors = reminds me of tubes again There were also questions on WELDING on the BASIC ELECTRONICS test. One question was about Ben Franklin's belief on current flow. A couple on Kirchhoff's law. Reminded me of Star Trek and confused me. Since I haven't really worked with color codes recently I hope I passed the audition. Whatever I didn't get right I'm sure I can refresh myself on the job and do good. Other tests I did was on loading trailers with forklifts that had questionable questions. Where should the forks be when traveling with no load? (or something to that effect) The only answer that sounded "right" was : all the way down. But that is wrong in a way. They should be slightly/a few inches off the ground. I hate tests. Anyway, I go meet the temp agency involved with this tomorrow! That means I can try and relax some today, since yesterday was long (but fun), and maybe cut down a tree.

I cooked some classic Italian pasta salad (Kraft) and added some chicken breast (Winn-Dixie). After getting through a bunch of the cooking I noticed that it called for some Italian salad dressing. Whoops. Used some Italian seasoning, apple cider vinegar (didn't have white wine vinegar and didn't want to open a bottle of red win vinegar) and olive oil. Not too bad for last minute. If there are no posts from Lisa or I the it's probably from my cooking. lol Now to finish off that bottle of wine. I don't know how I've had already. Must be 3 ounces or so with an ounce or two left.

UNPLANNED I watched two movies tonight that were shot in the same style. Cloverfield and Project Almanac were both shot in a candid/found footage/self documentary/Blair Witch style. I never found this style to be believable. Camera work is always too steady, they always seem to be edited instead of start/stop, whenever the camera is dropped it's always dropped with a decent shot, audio is too clean, etc. This one bothers me the most. How do they get the batteries to last for days??? The other night Lisa and I watched The Visit which is another movie in this style. Well, Les Miles isn't the only one to lose his job in the past week. Yup, this little accident got me fired. Was I on the phone? Texting? Doing my nails? Nope. Traffic in front stopped suddenly and I was probably checking my mirrors. Earlier that morning we had a safety meeting on distracted driving so they used that as an excuse. Sooooo, does anybody know a good employment lawyer possibly with ADA experience? Oh, I'm also looking for employment or free money. In the meantime I'll be extra cranky, extra scarce and extra poor.

I think I'll just copy and paste this every weekend for a few months now. The (offense/defense/refs/coaching/kicker/concession workers/unpopular presidential candidate/climate change) made the Saints lose.
Radiator changed and everything seems to be OK. Car starts, keeps temp at a decent temp, idles at a decent temp, no noticeable leaks. Of course that was just a quick run and check. right after I got back home it rained some. Hopefully I won't have to do any repairs, at least not this big, for a while. I still need to change Lisa's alternator one weekend. Fun fun fun.

Angel posting for a rare photo.
One the way home from hell, errr work, yesterday I stopped to get a pizza for dinner. Car didn't want to start. Loosened battery terminals, twisted them to get better contact and tightened. Started right up. This morning, dead again. Pulled out battery since I have no idea how old it is and brought it to be tested. Battery OK. Maybe starter is bad? Pull out starter and bring it in to be tested. Starter tested OK I check to make sure I'm getting 12v at starter. Good. Check to see if I get 12v at starter solenoid. Good. Decided to not F around with it anymore and just get a new started. $130 later... Putting starter in I notice something dripping. GREAT! When removing starter I must have hit the radiator and now there's a small leak. Too tired to go get a new radiator today. I guess another $100+ will go on the credit card tomorrow. I need a freaking break BIG TIME.

I see people posting about boycotting the NFL and to not watch the game last night for whatever their reasons are. My response is, "What game?" I've been boycotting, in a way, the NFL for years. I'm not going to pay mega bucks to see millionaires prance around for a few weeks out the year. The NHL is a little different. Even though I think they are also overpaid I think they work a lot harder for their money.

Decent rest this morning. Took a better look at TV I found the other day. Looks like water damage and not worth fooling with. Back to the curb it goes. Changed spark plugs. I think the old ones had 50-60k miles on them. Car is at 194k right now. Pulled out radiator fan since it wasn't running and A/C was getting hot when not moving. Worked fine when moving. Fan motor brushes were down to almost nothing. Ordered replacement assembly for about $60. Easy swapout. Ate late lunch with Lisa Ladyquilter Smit at Bamboo Garden. Rain approaching so grass cutting was rushed. At least I got the front done before lightning got close. Resting time now.

Just watched "The Tick" pilot on Amazon. I like it so far. It's like inside of bread. Tick reminds me of Warburton, especially the voice, but less polished and "pretty". I always thought Warburton was too "cute" for the job. lol Arthur reminds me of Leonard on The Big Bang Theory, A LOT. I think if they stick with this formula the series will work. Just wish the pilot was longer. 30 minutes was too quick.

I saw an early screening of the new Ghostbusters. It was pretty good. Lot's more jokes and some cameos. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing Stan Lee. Hmmmmm. You can't look at the new movie as a reboot OR as a continuation. There are some similarities that might make you think that but if you think of it more as an alternate universe it's better. Kevin is stupid. lol But we never got to see Mike Hat. 3D was nice but only needed for the ghost scenes I feel. And of course stay for the end credits. ALL OF THEM. I'd see it again.

Changed engine oil, oil filter, engine air filter, and cabin air filter in the Corolla. I had a tough time getting the old oil filter off. Last time I had the oil changed it was done by Firestone. It's always shops that over tighten things. Tires need to be rotated. I'll do that on the way to work tomorrow. LOL

Sooooo, anyone want an old Sharp 25" (I think) CRT TV for free? It'll eventually hit the curb and Craigslist if nobody on here wants it. I think I can put it in my trunk and deliver it in the NoLa area.

Someone was giving away a 39" Tv on Craigslist for parts/repair. Of course I had to get it. Ends up it's a Philips "smart" TV that's about 3-4 years old. Problem is that it won't turn on easily with the control buttons and the remote doesn't work. Quick looking at everything without taking anything apart I think it might be a problem with the control board which also has the remote sensor on it. Might be an easy fix. Tomorrow it gets screwed. Errrr, unscrewed.

Had to teach the UPS driver where my house was. Last 2 orders through them went to the wrong house. I'm glad I was home to catch him this time.

So Lisa and I went to see Cptn. Merica: Civil War (or whatever the title is) tonight thanks to some passes from my sister. We get there a little late and wait in the long line outside. People are being let in. We get in the building. They run out of wristbands which means they "sold out" the screening. Ok, now what to do. Ok, let's see Jungle Book. Checking the video monitors for times. They keep changing every time I look but it looks like the next 3d showing is at 9. Too late at night for that. Ok, how about Huntsman? There's a 7:20 showing. Got the tickets. Order expensive munchies after dealing with monitors that keep changing to what I DON'T want to see. Checking theater number I notice that theater #1 has Jungle Book for 7!!! Look at tickets and see a time for the showing was 6:20. Ummmm, I asked for 7:20. WTF? And it's like 6:35 now. Wait for customer service for a few minutes. "Oh, you want the IMAX 3D?" Yes, I don't want 2D at all. Regular 3D would be OK. But not 2D. Paid extra to get the IMAX printed on the tickets. Get into empty theater at 7, watch many trailers and then enjoy the movie. I liked it. I think the 3D was great and 2D might be OK, but for this mostly CGI film 3D is a good plus. Acting, including voice acting, was good. Only two songs during the film with a couple extra sings during the credits. The last one was from Dr. John. Anyway. Jungle Book was good and I have no idea how Capn Crunch:Cereal War was. Bed now. Work tomorrow. Crawfish tomorrow night.

I've noticed a lot of people driving around and talking on their cell phones. Yes, it's not recommended and illegal in most states. But the funny thing to me is the way they hold their phones. 3 way switch is working properly. I have no idea what I did before. I think one switch might have been upside down and I didn't notice it. Thanks to those that helped me the other day. Found TV has a new capacitor in it. RS 35volt axial to replace the 10 volt radial. It's bigger, physically, but it works. I'll let it run overnight here and see what happens. Hopefully I'll be bringing it home tomorrow. Then buy a wall mount and remote. Whew. Sister's TV that blows fuses has at least a shorted MOSFET. Touched up some solder spots and will also replace leaking capacitor.

Now on to an electrical problem. My moms bedroom has two switches on opposite sides of the room for the ceiling fan/light. The fan is operated separately from the light. The other day I replaced one of the switches. I brought it to Lowe's and got another one just like it. It's a three way switch. My mom said it wasn't working correctly. Checking it out I don't think it was wired for 3 way. Any suggestions?

So. Earlier I got the truck all loaded and was about to head out to do deliveries when I was informed that the truck I was using needed to be cleaned out because it was going to be picked up late today and be brought to auction. Luckily it was just the pallets and two sticks of pipe but still....... Now I'm trying to deliver a small box at a site and nobody wants to come sign for it and I have to just sit here and listen to sheet pile being driven in.
So. Nice day to spray some polyurethane on some wood for my mom that Lisa stained the other day. Also ended up selling the old fridge at moms house for a decent price. Couldn't get the sisters old TV to work. Tomorrow might be bringing said wood to moms and installing it to finish that project. Also see about the TV a little more. Could be bad solder on a transformer. Then I better get back home early for a Valentine's Day dinner with someone.

I spent part of my day off of work, being it's Mardi Gras Day here in the New Orleans area, "upgrading" my stock stereo in my Corolla. Since I had upgraded my Moto G to Lollipop the Bluetooth has been stuttering. I've been going Bluetooth to FM since both the Corolla and company trucks don't have AUX jacks. That stuttering is a pain to listen to. Seems to happen in low cell signal areas and can probably go away if I remove my SIM card. But that would kill the phone and data part of it. Not a good fix either. Anyway, I found a way to wire up an AUX jack. I used an old pair of headphones and just have the plugs to plug in, no jack. But anyway, it's wired directly to the circuit board at the CD cable and just need to make a black CD to truck the player into thinking it's playing a CD. Cheaper than buying a new stereo and less likely to get stolen.

Well, maybe next year I'll be in Chewbacchus. I still have a costume idea in my head that I want to get out. I just need some money, time and Arduino programming knowledge. Probably in that order. If I can do this one then the following years costumes can only get better because I have a whole set that can be worked out. I have over a year to do it. Or procrastinate. Whichever comes first.

Ryobi BT3000 table saw for sale. $100. Works good just need room right now. I have at least 2 12" blades, should have another laying around hardly used. Not sure where the blade guard is but I should have it also. The BT3000 is a belt driven saw that is very quiet compared to direct drive saws. Research the saw and you'll find out that it's a popular model and, if you feel like it, you can part out the saw and make some money. Saw can be taken off the wheeled base for easier transport. Saw is in Luling.

My mom got the holly bushes cut down at her house and I found this in the dirt.
Gona put a recliner to the curb in a bit if anyone wants to come and grab it. First come, first serve. It's a Lazy Boy that's about 12 years old. The blue fabric is in OK shape but has some wear to it and could use a freshening up. Look on Craigslist for it in Luling. I'll post photos and a link later also.

To follow up the blower issue we went to pick up some pizza tonight and the blower was working. That says it's not a blown fuse. Could be blower going bad or a bad relay. Still staying in and resting up from this cold while watching Kill Bill.
To follow up the blower issue we went to pick up some pizza tonight and the blower was working. That says it's not a blown fuse. Could be blower going bad or a bad relay. Still staying in and resting up from this cold while watching Kill Bill.

What a great start to the year.I ended last year with a head cold so that means it carried over to this year. I finally venture out to get some real food and I find that the blower isn't blowing ANY air. Hopefully it's just a fuse but I really don't feel like working on it. I guess all this cancels plans for tonight.

Today was cough day. Hopefully tomorrow will be back to normal day.
Feeling better than I did last year. At least the last two days of last years. Damn colds. Just need to get past the coughing phase and I should be much better.
