My Facebook New Years Resolution: Facebook now has a SNOOZE feature. With it a user can SNOOZE a page or friend for up to 30 days at a time. This year I will be snoozing people for various reason. The main reason will be negativity. Other reasons will be repetitive... blank re-posting of pages with no apparent reason (SHARE something but please add something to it like why would someone want to click on it), political posts (I don't give a shit if it's D, R, I, or other, I'm sick of politics, face it: most of them are crooks and don't give a shit about you or your beliefs) post storms (that's when you pop on to FB, make/share 10 posts in 5 minutes and then nothing for the rest of the day/week/etc) coma posts (that's when you post something that's 5 years old (not including FB Memories) and think they are NEW) blind shares without research (this is when you see something and you HAVE to share it without seeing if it's fake or not. Example: something like "Feb 4th will fall on a Sunday. This hasn't happened in 456 years" RESEARCH it people!!! Satire or jokes like: Dihydrogen Monoxide has killed hundreds of people a year and should be banned" would be OK with me though anything other reason that I feel like Snoozing you for Once your Snooze probation is over I will evaluate you again might unfriend you. Tread lightly. Right now I have 209 friends, some of you shall see how many I have next year at this time.

Time Magazine isn't picking Donald Trump as Person of the Year and Trump would pass if they did. So, to save Time Magazine some time, no pun intended, I am also saying that I am passing on the nomination. I think there are better people out there than me that deserve it. Of course the PotY isn't always a person of good standing according to Time Magazine but I think that it should be that way.

Yesterday: 207.5 in the morning, really only ate one meal with a bunch of snaking. 212 at night. Today: 209.5 in the morning. Light lunch/brunch. Changed oil, oil filter and air filter. Whopper for dinner. Not going to weigh myself tonight. One day I'll get down to 200. It'll probably be next year though.

Three things I learned today. 1. I have the day after Thanksgiving off, which is good news. 2. I am not sure if I have Mardi Gras day off, which is neutral news because I'll probably take that day off because of #3. 3. I learned that EXHORDER reunited and will be playing on Lundi Gras!!! This is GREAT news. I should be able to survive the show but probably won't be in a condition to work the next day which is Mardi Gras. 4. I'm terrible with lists.

Another day of disappointing project results. Started with working on Lisa's car A/C thinking it's a common radiator fan control module that went bad. Well, that might be if she had a 6 cylinder. But she has a 4 and the engine cooling system is completely different. Sooo, I check fuses, relays, etc and in the end I don't know if I had any progress but I did increase my had in some design engineers. Then it was on to running some new cables for the antenna that I put in the attic a while ago. Since we don't have attic stairs I have to bring a 6' ladder in. We also have a low pitch roof with little headroom and I hate stooping down up there. I jump into a Tyvek suit and prepare to sweat. Well, seems that when the A/C air handler was installed the installers didn't give a shit about how any cables were running already and the one that I wanted to pull up, for the back TV, and have the new cable follow was on the other side of the handler and under the ductwork. That means I'd have to pull the cable from a distance and have a chance of damaging the duct. Ended up snipping old cable and using that. For the front TV I was able to access everything but the hole that was drilled in a joist had a CAT5 and RG6 running through it and would have probably jammed up trying to get the crimped connector through. Ended up cutting and using the existing cable again. OK, now I have both TV's hooked to one antenna and I rescanned for channels. Now I get 4, 6, 8, 12, 20, 26, 32 (iffy), 42, 54, and their sub channels. Not bad for being in Luling with a cheap antenna that's just sitting up on the attic floor. One day I'll mount it better. Sooooo, I put everything up and relax. Big mistake. After checking my email I see that my thermostat is not connected to the network. Why? Well, seems that the condensate sensor got moved and it switched the whole system off. (this is a problem I've had since the system was installed, improperly, but the company is out of business so I just deal with it). So, I grab the ladder and jump back into the still moist Tyvek to fix a little float. ARGH. Now I'm exhausted and tired and worn out and ....... Sooooo, if you made it all the way through this ramble I have some things for sale from all of this. Mazda cooling fan controller. As well as some 6th generation Corolla parts I think. White RG6 coax, about 700 feet and some shorter crimped pieces. Ethernet cables: I've a bunch of 6-10 footers of various colors Now that the cat has left my lap and I can freely type I'm finished typing. Where's the arsenic, I need a shot or two.

So, if they were to replace my bumper and try to fix a bracket then the car would be considered "totaled". Since they didn't they cut me a check for it. Now I have a new front bumper. headlight and hood. All are painted. Well, except for the headlight. My 12 year old car looks little more than just slightly used now!!!

What a day. Installed window unit at moms since the central A/C went out. Came home and BBQ'd with Lisa and Barbara. The corn on the cob grilled in the husk was pretty good I must say. Hot dogs were a little toasty but not bad. Beans were good. And the strawberries dipped in white chocolate with blue sprinkles were yummy. Now to rest up for work tomorrow. At least the rest of the week should be short.

We went to Avocado's in Luling tonight for dinner. It used to be El Mexicano until they remodeled it. First thoughts when we walked in was that it was LOUD. With terrazzo floors and other hard surfaces it sounded like it was in the middle of a shopping mall food court. More tables now which were needed since it was busy. I found the food to be the same as El Mexicano, Lisa Smit found it to be better. Prices were higher than before I think also. Some of the staff were the same with some new faces. Now it's competing with El Paso nicely but I'm sure it'll slack off with people going to El Paso more again. For me I'm OK with it but being that it was so noisy I'd rather go to Taco Bell. lol

I wonder if Super Mitch thinks that by removing the monuments that he's making monumental improvements to NoLa. Yes, the pun was intended.
So yesterday two birds that look like mockingbird but aren't get into the warehouse that I'm working in. They suck to the metal trusses and keep knocking off very old, and probably lead, paint flakes. I leave the roll up door open for a while and one eventually gets out. Meanwhile the other one keeps making a new with the flakes. By the end of my day there I don't see the remaining bird and close the place up and sweep up the mess. This morning there's a mess on the floor so I know the bird was in there all night. Soooooo, to up door is up and the damn thing won't fly out. It won't fly any lower than the two for truss. After eating my lunch this thing gets busy going around again. At one point I look up and see it going right above me. Good thing I was looking because I see something falling, and it wasn't a paint flake. I moved out the way just in time.

Two weeks of train as you go then it's "Oh, you have to learn how to do quarterly inventory by coming in on a Saturday afternoon and go to three locations." Then it's work solo on Monday, the busiest day of the week, and deal with problems that will definitely pop up. I felt like cursing like a nun with a bad habit. Still trying to relax over three hours later.

I've been working from 6am till 2 this past week. Then I got to work today from 2pm till 11:30 for inventory. Monday I'll go back to the 6-2 gig. Right now I'm a temp so I might not have to do inventory there again but I hear that I could be hired permanently. If I do then next inventory should go faster for me since I'll only be doing 2 locations. Either way I'm worn out and need to crash since the Advil are kicking in. Hopefully I can sleep past 8am.

Tesla spotted in the wild. My first one. Model X starting at a little over $65k. Top of the line is about $135k here. I was hoping it was going to our house for a late birthday present.
I get a call from the temp agency saying that I was supposed to meet with a company today. I told them that I had the interview yesterday. Long story short, temp tried to contact me yesterday to tell me I was hired for that job. Rushed out to job in Gretna, started a little training, since it's an early shift is early lunch. Also supposed to be early end to today. Should be an interesting 8 week gig while someone gets heart surgery and recovery. Could turn into long term position though.

"Will you be available for a reshoot on Friday?" Yup Never got a followup so I called for a time yesterday. Message said 11:30am call time. Still no word this morning. Called again. Now I'm getting 9:30 and I'm about 45 minutes away. Call hotline to speak to person. Person said I wasn't on any call sheets. Since I'm not wanted I'm going back to bed.

A T-Mobile "perk" is T-Mobile Tuesdays where they have coupons, discounts, freebies, etc. Today they offered FREE MLB TV (as well as a $5 credit to Vudu) for use on the phones. I just got the app installed, set up and tuned to the Cubs/Cardinals game when a Cards player gets smacked in head with the ball at home plate. Since when is baseball a contact sport? Instead of watching on the phone I'm able to cast it to the TV. Not a bad deal for a not great phone service. Yes, Frank, baseball isn't exciting but it's better than golf.

Since others are doing it I decided to clean out my friends list a little I dropped about 50 people. Some were already deleted accounts and some I have no real associations with (FB game friends). Unlike my weight I'm under 200 now. I could probably trim it down a little more if I get rid of the multiple personalities. LOL I also kept my dead friends since they sometimes have better things to say than the live ones. Some are lucky to even still be on the list. If you got cut and you want to get back on let me know and I'll think about it.

The audio is very distorted, because it was loud and my camera can handle anything over a whisper. Like he says in the video a lot of the songs are about death. Death and politics. And gentrification. I found the gentrification part funny because of the locale that the in. Ya see, he's from the San Francisco area and with gentrification everything is expensive. That night he was playing in an area that is getting gentrified. Would that be called ironic? Hopefully the video is at least view able.

Took apart my Microsoft Intellimouse for the first time since it was made in 1934. I can't remember when I got it but it's been at least 15 years ago. Probably more like 20. Lots of cat hair and a little soft drink spillage. Hopefully now the scroll wheel won't go psycho on my anymore. On FB it'd go crazy scrolling up and down for a few seconds for no reason. I like this mouse Next I might tackle the ancient Dell keyboard that I like so much. Yeah, the media keys don't work (haven't since XP I think) but they are raised keys and not the flatter laptop feeling design.

So I was fooling around with a security camera system today. Plug and play my ass. Well, maybe if you just want the basic things like it recording. If you want anything else, like hooking it to your network for viewing/control from a computer or accessing it remotely then you need a degree in computers. After half the day I finally got to access on the PC. Windows only. Firefox browser only. Chrome and Edge say there needs to be a plugin installed. Then I got the manufacturers program to work. Then email notifications to work. I had to install a firmware update, try different ports, maybe port forwarding worked some, who knows. Another day I'll see about trying to get it to work on mobile. Then the other browsers. Then Linux. Then.....

I thought the interview went well last week. Got word today that I wasn't picked because I they felt I was overqualified. Overqualified could mean just about anything. I'm not overqualified, I'm underemployed. But the temp agency had a fresh opening that I'd be interested in. And the search continues.

Watch out for fake profiles. If a friend requests to be your friend then it's probably a scam. It just happened to me. They sent me a PM asking if I heard about some TCF program. I asked them if they heard of the F U program and was going to explain to them about shoving a phone somewhere but they vanished before I could.

For the game that's on tonight all I have to say is GO MILLIONAIRES!!!!
Day two of DIY because I can't afford shop costs car repairs. Today I go to rotate the tires. I'm not one for bending down, crawling on the ground and all that stuff. Never liked it. So I knew today was going to be non-fun. I get one side off and want to remove the rear drum to check the brake shoes. If course it's stuck on tight. Screw it. Move on. Now to the other side. Most of the lug nuts are coming off easy, as they should. BUT one wants to be a bitch because when I went to Firestone last they went and cross threaded it. Well.... The stud goes and pops off. I don't have the time and energy to replace it so now I have to bring it in and get it replace. Firestone said they can do it for about $50 which is about $65 less than normal. For now I lay in bed watching the Packers/Cowboys game while the migraine meds kick in.

Ok, another silly though that escaped from my head.
Trying to work on a stupid meme thing in Photoshop while a cat keeps occupying the lap is not easy.
I'd do that high school music thing that everyone else is doing but that was like 30+ years ago. My list would be classic rock that was played on the radio (The Who, BTO, Zeppelin,etc) and stuff like early Journey, early Styx, Foreigner, Zebra, some Pink Floyd and starting to get into Yes. So basically classic rock with a leaning to the heavier stuff and progressing to some some progressive. I still love classic rock, progressive but added metal and other genres like some variations of jazz, big band, classical, etc. No pop, country or rap though. Disclosure: I did (probably still do) have albums from Sugar Hill Gang and The Knack, I don['t remember any country albums though.
