Came home to see Lisa's brake lights on for no reason. Found out that a little piece of plastic on the brake switch, under the dash, broke and the car thinks someone is constantly stepping on the brakes. That means tomorrow will be a fun day of contorting myself under her dash to see what can be done. For now all brake lights are disconnected and hopefully the battery won't run down overnight.

Ever drive down the Interstate and have part of your car start to fall off and before you can stop it does fall off and then you roll over it? We did earlier. Good thing it was just the inner fender liner. I knew the right side needed some repair but the left side completely surprised. I think running through the puddles after this afternoons rains loosened them and hitting 60 completed the job. Now to order the correct parts with complete parts.

After a long week after a long, but still short, vacation I have lots to do but too tired to do it. We did have a nice dinner with Barry Cantin thanking him for watching the cats while we were gone. I'll eventually get the lawn cut, COG photos from last night up, and many old slide scans for TBT's onto Facebook. Also a visit to mom, car/house work/repairs are needed. Since I only have one day left with the weekend I still need to find a clone of myself. But since I don't have the time for that........ Oy vey!

I think McKenzie's (because they are local) should do a commercial with a closeup of someone, not revealed yet, dunking a donut in coffee. Then someone throws a flag on the table. Wide shot reveals Jimmy Graham shaking his head.

Lots of driving this past week. I'm sure it was well over 2,000 miles. Stayed in some decent hotels for a decent price and stayed in some not so decent hotels for about the same. Last place was $45 and the walls needed to first coat of paint finished. I think they might have started over a year ago. Lot's of good food eaten. Thai, Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Tim Horton's, Bob Evans, Bavarian, Cracker Barrel, etc. Went to Frankenmuth, Mi for a taste of Bavarian shopping and Bronner's Mega Wonderland Worlds Largest Christmas Store. That place can make you like and/or hate Christmas. Yup, nothing says "Merry Christmas" more than a T-Rex tree ornament. Also took a side trip to see Abraham Lincoln's birthplace. I'll post some photos later. Ohio and Kentucky must be doing well financially since Interstate 75 was being worked on ALL OVER. The weather was nice. Lows almost in the 50's when we first got there. After a few days it was more like nice in the shade and you could feel the rays in the sun. The Corolla ran great. I was getting tank MPGs in the high 30's. Best was 38. I'm sure it'd be lower if I'd kept the speed below 70. But 35 MPG at 80 MPH with the A/C on isn't bad. Gas prices were a little higher in most places. Ohio and Michigan were probably the worst. One spot the diesel was lower than regular. The trucks up there have like 15 axles and are quite intimidating. Speaking of trucks. Ever see an 18 wheeler with those BIG FAT tires instead of the two smaller ones? Ever see the big ones blown out in the middle of your lane while doing 70+. Those things are HUGE. I've been using T-Mobile for my cell phone and as long as I was in a BIG city it was fine. Once I got on the Interstate I might as well have had the phone turned off. Talk about crappy service out there. sheesh. Might have to upgrade to Cricket. At least the hotels and some restaurants had free WiFi. I need to get more vacation time, and money, so we can really enjoy a long trip like that. And a big thanks goes out to Barbara for taking care of Liam and Barry for taking care of the cats. They are all happy that their people are back. Oh, and since I was away from Facebook for a good bit of the trip I might have missed some good post so if y'all don't mind can you please repost the good stuff for me?
